1 . Epidermal cells are irregular in their shape . They cover and prevent the organs of the plants therefore prevent the entry of microorganisms and loss of most of the water from the plant. Epidermis do not contain chloroplast. The cells are used for protection in the plants and contains stomata in them. Stonata is open as it allows the exchange of gases in and around the plant and the environment. It is surrounded by two bean shaped gaurd cells that opens amd closes the stomata through stomata pores.
2. Trichomes in Arabidopsis thaliana serve as transpiration barrier , mediates herbivour behaviour, promotes removal of perticulates and obstructs pathogens and ultra violet light penetration. All plants do not contain trichomes in them becouse having more in one pigment allows plant to absorb more light then require making it difficult for them in functioning. All the plants do not contain same amount of trichomes it may be single in some oe in a group varing in its density.

1. Label the microphylls and strobili in the Figure 1 below. Figure 1. Lycopodium sp. Examine the prepared slide of a mature Lycopodium strobilus. (See text Figure 17-16, pages 406 and 407.) Note that Lycopodium, like most species in the Lycopodiaceae, is homosperous and only produces one type of spore 2. Label the spores in Figure 2 below. Figure 2. Lycopodium strobilus 1.s. 3. Given that Lycopodium is homosporaus, would you expect its gametophytes to be unisexual or bisexual? Explain...

10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
