A type A woman is the daughter of a type O father and type A mother. If she has children with a type AB man, what is the probability that they have an “A” blood type first child but a “B” blood type second child, and a “AB” blood type third child?

Clearly the genotype of the mother is AO and the genotype of the father is AB and when crossed, following genotypes of the off springs are possible:

AA, AB, AO and BO.

So the chances of A blood groups are 2/4, AB blood type are 1/4 and B blood type is also 1/4.

Hence, the desired chance are:

2/4 x 1/4 x 1/4 = 1/32.

So there is 1/32 chance of it happening.
