Positive phototaxis is an organism's directional movement in response to light. By increasing light intensity in the lab can encourage the growth of these organisms. The organism moves toward the source of stimulation that is light. The organism has the ability to move into optimal light conditions for photosynthesis. This is an advantage for this organism.
