Answer #1

All plants show alternation of generation between haploid gametophyte and diploid sporophyte.

The dominant phase in the life cycle of algae and mosses is the haploid gametophyte.

The dominant phase in the life cycle of Ferns, gymnosperms and angiosperms is the diploid sporophyte. Gametophyte in this plant is represented by male and female reproductive organs. For example, in angiosperms, the male gametophyte is represented by Pollen Grain and the female gametophyte is represented by the embryo sac.
