Deoxygenated blood from bronchial circulation is mixed with blood from oxygenated alveolar circulation.

The Pulmonary vein is used to transport all blood from Lungs to the Left Atrium, including blood that has been deoxygenated due to lung metabolism. This causes a drop in the partial pressure for Oxygen in the Pulmonary vein.
