Answer #1

Question 1B.
• This process is called anaerobic respiration and occurs in cytoplasm of cell.
• Anaerobic respiration is the process of producing cellular energy without oxygen.
• Anaerobic respiration is a relatively rapid reaction and produces 2 ATP, which is very less than aerobic respiration.

Question 1C.
• Eukaryotic cells produce energy in presence of oxygen by the process called aerobic respiration.
This process is divided into four steps :-
1. Glycolysis - occurs in cytoplasm of cell.
In this stage Glucose is converted into pyruvate.

2. Link reaction - occurs in mitochondrial matrix.
In this stage pyruvate is oxidized into acetyl coA .

3. Krebs cycle - occurs in mitochondrial matrix.
Acetyl coA is oxidized and CO2 molecules released from this cycle.
In this cycle, NADH and FADH2 are produced.

4. Election transport chain - occurs at inner mitochondrial membrane.
In this stage energy from NADH and FADH2 is converted into form of ATPs.
