Answer #1

A. False

Smaller the size of a protein, faster will be its movement on the gel and therefore father will it move. The proteins with high molecular weight will move slowly and not move farther on the gel.

B. False

Beta sheet proteins structure is stabilized by hydrogen bonding between amino acids present on adjacent polypeptide chain. Amino acids present on same polypeptide chain are connected to each other by peptide Bond.

C. False

Beta sheets are not present in every protein instead beta turns are present in most of the proteins but still not in every protein.

Please rate high.

Carl has just finished purifying a protein and analysis by gel filtration indicated that the molecular weight of the native (undenatured) protein was 130,000 dalton. His advisor wanted him to determine whether this protein had quaternary structure using gel electrophoresis. He wants to be able to describe the molecular weight of each of the subunits and the forces involved in linking these subunits together (disulfide linkages and/or electrostatic, hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic interactions). Carl first analyzed his pure protein sample...

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
