Bip is required to protect cells from endoplasmic reticulum stress and maintain protein in a competent state suitable for folding. If BiP goes missing then it will activate IRE1 pathway causing increased mRNA decay , decreased protein translation and upregulated expression of ER chaperons to aid protein folding.
If Bip had a higher affinity to IRE1 then it will remain bind to it causing its deactivation and accumulation of improperly folded protein
D. BiP is an important part of the IRE1 pathway (hopefully BiP is already included in...

NATIONAL CENTER FOR CASE STUDY TEACHING IN SCIENCE Part IV- CAM Pathway "Abbic, you were in Baja California recently when you were on that cruise to collect deep sea samples righ? What photosynthetic pathway were the plants in that area using" "I sure didn't see trees like we have in Rhode Island in Baja California because I was in the Sonoran for your research, plans that use the C, and C, photosynthetic pathways, but they had major modifications, such as...
d) An Australian study included 588 men and women who already had some precancerous skin lesions. Half got a skin cream containing a sunscreen with a sun protection factor of an inactive cream. After 7 months, those using the sunscreen with the sun protection had new precancerous skin lesions (New England Journal ofMedicine.), 17; half got fewer 10) The New York Times did a special report on polling that was carried in papers across the nation. The article pointed out...
Tracy already had 3 children when her 4th child (Samantha) was born with a number of genetic abnormalities including curvature of the spine. An abnormality on chromosome 15 was identified and Tracy and her husband received genetic counseling. They were told that the disorder was rare and that any future children had no more than a 1 in 200 chance of being affected. Ove the next 11 years, Tracy had 4 other children. All were tested for abnormalities which proved...
I ONLY NEED PART D to be answered . The rest is solved already, I just forgot to add part D on the lastThe quality control manager at a light bulb factory needs to estimate the mean life of a large shipment of light bulbs. The standard deviation is 96 hours. A random sample of 64 light bulbs indicated a sample mean life of 300 hours. Complete parts (a) through (d) below.a. Construct a 99% confidence interval estimate for the...
Metabolic Pathway Engineering Problem Set 5 Engineering a Fermentation System: Fermentation of plant matter to produce ethanol for fuel is one potential method for reducing the use of fossil fuels and thus the CO2 emissions that lead to global warming. Many microorganisms can break down cellulose then ferment the glucose to ethanol. However, many potential cellulose sources, including agricultural residues and switchgrass, also contain substantial amounts of arabinose, which is not as easily fermented. Escherichia coli is capable of fermenting...
The statements below describe a metabolism pathway and its regulation. 1. Substrate A can form B 2. Substrate B can form either C or D. 3. Substrate C can form either F or G 4. Substrate D can form E. 5. Substrate E can form G. 6. Substrate F can form J 7. Substrate G can form H. 8. Substrate H can form K. 9. Product K inhibits the reaction of G to form H. 10. Product G inhibits the...

SHORT ANSWER 23. Describe the path of electrons in the noncyclic electron transport pathway during photosynthesis. Explain the difference between the pathway of electrons in cyclic and noncyclic electron flow and in the final products that result from each pathway. 24. Cytochalasin is a drug that binds to the plus ends of actin filaments, thereby blocking elongation. Because of the dynamic nature of actin filaments this usually results in the depolymerization of actin filaments. a. If you were studying the...
Cell Signaling Pathways A Case Study Approach L. Emtage, L Bradbury, N. Coleman, D. Davenport. A Dunning and Grew Assignment. The Wnt/f-catenin pathway B-catenin B-catenin TO Note: GSK3, APC and Axin together are called the B-catenin Destruction Complex DSH is the abbreviation for Dishevelled. The human genome encodes many Fzd receptors, several Dsh proteins, one GSK3, and one ß-catenin. Questions 1. What are the components of the receptor complex? What is the ligand? 2. What is the molecular function of...
