Hello,

AAA codes for lysine,if we replace the terminal A with G that is AAG,this codon will also code for lysine. If AAA is mutated to UAA then it will become nonsense codon that is stop codon.Similarly if AAG is mutated to UAG it will act as a nonsense codon.Missense are those substitutions in which change in even a single nucletide will lead to the production of a different amino acid.In this case if AAA is mutated to AAC or AAU,aspargine amino acid will be synthesised. If AAA is mutated to AGA then arginine will be synthesised. If AAA is mutated to AUA then isoleucine will form.Whereas,ACA will lead to the formation of threonine.

Hope this helps.

TranslationOverview:The purpose of this activity is to help the students to understand how replication, transcription, and translation are connected. Students will use a sequence from a bacterial gene that confers resistance to antibiotics (carbapenems). They will be asked to apply the knowledge obtained in the class lecture to (1) find the promoter in the sequence, (2) determine the amino acid sequence of a fragment of the polypeptide, (3) "reverse translate" a fragment of the polypeptide, and (4) identify mutations in...

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...

Exercise 2 Separation of a Mixture Based on Acid-Base Properties One purpose of this exercise is to learn how to use a separatory funnel to extract a single component away from other compounds in solution. To do so, we will apply the principles of solubility and acid-base behavior you’re seeing in class. One of the compounds is neutral in the acid-base sense. It has no ability to either donate or accept a proton from an aqueous solution, and will remain...
