Question: For each terms given below,indicate what type of molecule it is?

Answer:  1.Operator: DNA

Operator is a genetic sequence where it allows proteins which is responsible for the transcription to attach the DNA sequence.It mainly controls the production of certain  portions of DNA.

2.Operon: DNA

Operon is nothing but functioning unit of the DNA which contains many genes in cluster.It is controlled by a single promoter and it helps in transcription and genetic regulation.

3.Lactose: carbohydrate.

Lactose is a sugar(disaccharide)which is found in milk.It is made up of two carbohydratyes i.e Glucose and Galactose.lactose molecular formula is C12H22O11.

4.Transcription Factor: Protein.

These are proteins which helps in the process of transcribing genetic information from the DNA to messenger RNA.It initiates and regulates the genetic transcription.

5.Promoter: DNA

Promoter is a DNA sequence which helps to initiate the biological process of particular genetic transcription.It controls binding of RNA Polymerase to DNA where it converts to mRNA and finally translated to functional protein.

6.Gene: DNA

Genes are nothing but the sequence of nucleotides in DNA and RNA.these are the main reason for heredity and expresses traits by specifying structure of particular polypeptide.
