The ground is prepared for planting pineapples by ploughing or digging followed by levelling. Depending on the land's nature of the land, trenches of proper length, about 90cm.width and 15-30 cm. the depth is prepared. Sandy loam soils with pH between 5.0-6.0 are ideal for the growth of the pineapples. pineapple require a high amount of nitrogen and potassium. There is no need of phosphorus , however if soil are poorer then nitrogen , potassium at 12 g and phosphorus 4 g of P2O5 can be applied to each plant. For uniform flowering Ethrel(@100ppm)solution is applied to plants before the one-month flowering. Use herbicides, insecticides etc. for kill harmful organism and excess plant during preparation bed for pineapples planting.
