Fluorescence in situ hybridization is one of the technique that is use to understand the structure of nucleus. It is a microscopic method to visualize specific DNA and RNA sequence within the nucleus by hybridizing complementary fluorescent dye labeled DNA or RNA probes. It has been used extensively to identify chromosomal aberration e.g., translocations, deletions and characterize other nuclear bodies.
