Answer #1

Dizziness or light-headedness when standing up after sitting for a long time is known as Orthostatic hypotension or postural hypotension. It is a form of low blood pressure that happens when you stand up from sitting down.

Light-headedness occurs as a result of abnormal blood pressure regulation. When people stand, gravity causes blood to flow to the blood vessels of the legs and trunk. This flow lowers the blood pressure and the amount of blood the heart pumps to the brain. Low blood flow to the brain causes light-headedness. To compensate for this, the nervous system quickly increases the heart rate and constricts blood vessels in heart and brain, which rapidly returns blood pressure to normal. Vasoconstriction of blood vessels occurs to the heart and brain.

As there is increased blood flow to the legs, vasodilation of femoral arteries will occur.

So, option (a): vasodilation of femoral arteries will occur as the leg circulation was earlier constricted is the correct option.
