Answer #1

Ans1.) Bivalents or tetrads formation takes place in prophase of meiosis 1 . The leptotene stage begins with the condensation of chromatin fibers into long, threadlike structures, similar to what occurs at the beginning of mitosis. At zygotene, continued condensation makes individual chromosomes distinguishable, and homologous chromosomes become closely paired with each other via the process of synapsis, forming bivalents.

Ans2.)Since the disease is X-linked so males can never serve as carrier, they will always show the diseased phenotype because of having one X-ray chromosome.

So a normal individual who is a carrier for the X-linked trait  is always a women, can have daughters who have the gene, is hetrozygous for the recessive condition, show as the dominant ( sufferer) phenotype in males only carrying that allele.

Hope this will help you ? Please give your feedback ?good luck

Can someone please check my answer? Understanding chromosome number and behavior during cell division is an important concept in genetics. Fill out the chart below for each phase of mitosis in terms of N (where N = haploid number). For example, humans have a haploid number of 23. There are 46 chromosomes (2N) present in prophase of mitosis. Each chromosome is present in its replicated form (i.e. as sister chromatids) so there will be 2 chromatids per chromosome and the...
