The layer that attaches the skin to the underlying structures is called Hypodermis. This layer is also called as subcutaneous layer.It is located between the dermis and underlying tissues and organs.

This layer contains a large amount of loose connective tissue and adipose tissue and it contains larger blood vesseles and nerves than dermis.
