Answer #1

Answer 22:- (b). Increasing insulin production.

As your blood sugar levels rise, your pancreas releases an insulin hormone which prompts your cells to absorb blood sugar. It induces drops in the blood sugar levels.

Answer 23 :- (a). Schwann cells

Myelin is produced by peripheral nervous system (PNS) Schwann cells, and central nervous system (CNS) oligodendrocytes. Each Schwann cell constitutes a single sheath of myelin around an axon. In comparison, each oligodendrocyte forms multiple sheaths around different axons (up to 30 or more)

Answer 24:- (b) the Na+ k+ pump.

The voltage-gated ion channels regulate the relative concentrations of different ions within and outside the cell. The total charge difference between the cell's inside and outside is called the membrane potential.Through the the concentration of cations outside the cell (in the extracellular fluid) compared to inside the cell (in the cytoplasm), the negative resting membrane potential is created and sustained.

Answer 25:- (c). controls motor coordination.

The cerebellum receives information from the sensory systems, spinal cord and other parts of the brain and then regulates the movement of muscles. The cerebellum regulates voluntary movements such as posture, balance, coordination and voice, resulting in smooth and synchronized movement in the muscles.

Answer 26:- (a) homology.

Evolutionary theory predicts similarities in different species that are derived from common ancestors. Due to relatedness similar features are known as homologies.

Answer 27:- (a). Burgess shale

British Columbia's well-known Middle Cambrian Burgess Shale, identified by Stephen Jay Gould with its' weird wonders,' is a great example of a benthic community preserved by obrution, while Southern Germany's similarly renowned Jurassic Holzmaden Shale, with its pregnant ichthyosaurs and other pelagic marine reptiles, is a fine example of stagnation preservation.

Answer 28:-(d).horse fossils occur in North America even though there were no wild horses in North America in 1492.

Hundreds of complete, fossilized skeletons of these animals were found in the Eocene layers of the North American strata, primarily in the Wyoming Wind River basin. Linked fossils, such as Propalaeotherium (which is not considered ancestral to modern horses) have also been found in Europe.
