Answer #1

Leber Congenital Amaurosis (LCA), an inherited form of blindness result from mutations in at least 14 genes and affected Molly has a autosomal recessive pattern of inheritance as both of her parents doesn't get affected by the disease but simply acts as carrier. Therefore, both of her parents had a single faulty allele of a gene resulting from mutation and one normal allele. The one normal allele is sufficient for producing normal functional protein in both of them which is not the case with Molly as she inherited the two faulty allele of a gene each from one of her parents. Hence, the protein produced in Molly has lost its structure and therefore the function which contributes to the blindness which she develops.Mollys Father Mollys mother ca) chomosome: - Mutated allele A VA - NO- Bo allele DU V Toon: Funcional Functional Molly chro
