there are different types of pills available in market for relaxing mood known as antidepressent medicine. as per question student taken a drug for relaxing mood , but these antidepressing drugs have some side effect like increasing heartbeat.

after taking MAOIs ( first generation anti depressent drugs) usually causes cardiovascular adverse events in 12-24 hrs like increasing heartbeat. and the another 1st line treatment for depression isTCAs, which is also increses the heart beat .

MECHANISM OF ACTION

TCAS delays in phase 0 of depolarisation and impairing the electrical conduction in His-purkinje fibers as well as in artrial and ventricular monocytes, TCAS can slow the conduction velocity , which is presented on the ECG by prolonged PR,QRS,& QT intervals. this delay is due to the inhibition of the fast sodium channel by TCAs .
