Answer #1

3. I think the sex determination pattern in this lizard species is XO/XX type in which the male has two Xc and the female has single X chromosome. As it can be seen from the karyotype that only X chromosome is present in the female.

4. In the karyotype for the worm species, the right karyotype appears to be for female as it has two sex chromosomes of approximately the same size while in the left image it is hard to see two chromosomes so may be due to unclear image, I can still predict one X and another Y chromosome in the left karyotype.

You are studying the heart of a strange newly-discovered primate species. Its basic structure is like that of the human heart, but the timing of the wave of excitation which emanates from the SA-node and spreads throughout the atria and ventricles are quite different. The figure below shows the time of arrival of the wave at various points in the heart relative to its generation at the SA-node. Cardiac action potentials were recorded at different points in the atrial and...

Hello, please read the question and answer the 3 parts of this question (Q's are bolded) Merfolk have three pairs of autosomes and one sex chromosome; males are X0 and females are XX. In merfolk the genes controlling tail fin shape and scale colour are on different autosomes. Solid tail fin (Ff) is dominant to forked tail fin (ff), and the F allele is recessive lethal. There are two alleles of the scale colour gene – CB(blue) and CR (red)–...
