A. Unconditional stimulus is a natural reaction shown by our nervous system to any action or any effect to our body. Example the hand being pulled back when it comes in contact to any hot object.
Conditional stimulus is a learned behavior which is kept in our records of brain mostly from a unconditional stimulus.
Pairing happens in the second phase when the nuetral stimulus is paired with the unconditional stimulus . After pairing with the unconditional stimulus, the reaction becomes known to the brain. For example the when any tone is heard,the nuetral stimulus for it now becomes a unconditional stimulus.
After this the previous nuetral stimulus starts to evoke the same response at this point of time the response is known as a conditional stimulus.
B. Long term potentiation is continuous strengthening of synapses based on the recent activities. In this there is a intense stimulation for the presynaptic neuron after which amplitude of the post synaptic neuron response increases.
