a stop codon can be created due to the frameshift mutations, frameshift mutations can arise due to the insertion or deletion of nucleotides which are not in the multiples of three, frameshift mutations change the reading frame this can result in a premature stop codon.

The missense mutation, is a point mutation that changes the codon to another, the new codon codes for a different amino acid.

A nonsense mutation is a point mutation which changes the codon to a stop codon.

a silent mutation is a point mutation, which changes the codon to another codon, but the new codon codes for the same amino acid as the original codon.
