Answer #1

Two alleles of the same gene may both produce enough function protein product and each manifest a phenotype in one individual.

Answer – True

Explanation - Take the example of individual with AB blood group. In this individual two alleles, IA and IB of gene I is present which determines the ABO blood group of individuals. Now, when both the allele i.e. IA and IB is present then the individual consists both A-antigen and B-antigen in its red blood cells. Thus, two alleles of the same gene may both produce enough function protein product and each manifest a phenotype in one individual.

Two genes, each with two alleles, interact to produce a phenotype. This is an example of multiple alleles.

Answer – False

Explanation – This is an example of gene interaction not multiple alleles. Multiples alleles are said when there are more than two alleles of a gene exist. For example, in human ABO blood group the gene I has three different alleles which are IA, IB and IC. Therefore, the gene I is a case of multiple alleles not the above mention in question.
