1. The two genes are not linked because all cominations are equally observed. AB,Ab,aB,ab all are in 1:1:1:1 ratio and each of them are 3 in number. Three of each combination are found among the asci.

2.The difference between Type I and III is :

Type I is AB or ab. Which seem to be parental combinations having both dominant or both recessive alleles.

Type III is Ab or aB. Which are recombinants if we consider the parental yeast strain to be homozygous dominant and homozygous recessive.

3.Type I asci are rare because these asci are having spores which are either dominant or recessive. Where as other asci are having all types of combinations of spores.
