Answer #1

1) If plate has 9 CFU

Since there are 9 CFU per 10 μL loop.

And 10 μL = 0.01 mL ( as 1 mL = 1000 μL)

Therefore 1 millilitre will contain 100 times the CFU in 10 microlitre.

CFU per mL = 9 x 100 = 900

2) If plate has 10 CFU

Since there are 10 CFU per 10 μL loop.

So similarly, CFU per mL = 10 x 100 = 1,000

3) If plate has 100 CFU

Since there are 100 CFU per 10 μL loop.

So similarly, CFU per mL = 100 x 100 = 10,000

Hence the correct answer for three parts are 900, 1000 and 10,000 respectively.
