Answer #1

1.

A. Oxygen is not important for photosynthesis because it is the byproduct of photosynthesis. It is liberated during photosynthesis of water and it is not directly involved in photosynthesis and even in plant metabolism. It is expelled by stomata outside the plants.

B. Protons which are generated by photolysis of water are not important because they do not participate in electron transport chain and photophosphorylation. Protons which are generated by electron Carriers during electron transport chain are important, but those generated by photolysis of water do not directly participate in the process.

C. Electron from photolysis of water are very important because water act as electron donor and this electrons are up taken by electron Carriers during electron transport chain. Ultimately the electrons are accepted by NADP+ to form NADPH which is an energy carrier. It is used during Calvin cycle for the production of glucose during carbon dioxide fixation.

does anyone know D? Lab 8 Spring 2020 The Light Reactions The light reactions begin with the photolysis of water. Photolysis refers to the process by which, in the Intact thylakoid membranes and light. water is split into oxygen protons and electrons. Therefore, was primary electron donor in photosynthesis. Conversion of water, a very stable molecule, to oxygen is er unfavorable and would not occur to any significant extent without input of light energy in photosystem e process by which,...
