oleate is a monounsaturated fatty acid having single double bond. in the 1st step oleate is converted to oleoyl coA like other saturated fatty acid then enters the carnetine shuttle where it undergoes oxidation to yeild 3 acetyl coA molecule and cis dodecenolycoA but as this cannot act as a substrate for enoy coA hydratase to act upon so an enzyme enoyl coA isomerase converts it to transdedecenoyl coA.
