Conservation biologist is scientist interested in studying the Earth’s biodiversity with motive of protecting both plant animal species, habitats, and ecosystems, ie biodiversity conservation. As biodiversity conservation is important for our health, wealth, food, fuel, and services we depend on. It plays an integral role in supporting many sectors of development.

The primary source of our food comes from nature hence conserving it protects plant, animal, microbial and genetic resources for food production, agriculture, and ecosystem functions such as fertilizing the soil, recycling nutrients, regulating pests and disease, controlling erosion, and pollinating crops and trees. At the same time, unsustainable agricultural production and use of wild species for food or fuel can reduce biodiversity.Is also important for economic growth and poverty reduction as most of the world’s poor population llive in rural areas and depend upon forests, water, wetlands, fields and pastures for their livelihoods. It also helps in address the effects of climate change like reduce the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. Mismanaging natural resources and harming biodiversity can increase poverty and instability. Helping communities and individuals secure rights to use natural resources, and involving local communities in responsibly managing them, can prevent or minimize conflict and provide opportunities for economic growth.

They recognize the value of biodiversity and also the importance of conserving it
as it has utilitarian value because it benefits people directly and maintains interactions between the living and non-living parts of the environment.
Biodiversity also has inherent value to many people. it has worth beyond the goods and services it provides humans and ecosystems hence it important to protect it hence people like conservation biologist step forward to protect it.
