a) The human genome is formed of 23 pairs of chromosome which
contains of about total 3 billion deoxyribonucleic acid base
pairs.
Out of twenty three pairs of chromosome : twenty two chromosome
chromosomes and the X and Y sex-chromosomes.
Somatic cells typically comprises of one copy of
chromosomes 1-22 from both parent, and one x chromosome from the
mother, and either an X or y chromosome from the father, for a
complete of 46.
