Answer #1

given codon is 5' - ATG- TCC- TCG- AAT - TTT- CCC- 3'

coding for amino acids - 5'- Met- Ser- Ser- Asn- Phe- Pro- 3'

by deleting , the base T and C from 3rd codon seuence TCG we can obtain the new sequence of amino acids resulting from frame shift mutation.

the obtained sequenc is :

5'- ATG- TCC- GAA- TTT- TCC- 3'

5' - Met - Ser - Glu- Phe - Ser- 3'

Some amino acids are post-translationally removed from the C-terminal end of the beta-lactamase enzyme from B. imaginarium (i.e. - after it is translated and released from the ribosome, a protease chews off a some amino acids).  The wild-type enzyme, which has had the amino acids removed from the C’-terminus, is 246 amino acids in length and the C-terminal amino acids are shown below aligned with the C-terminal amino acids of a frameshift mutant, which – due to a frameshift mutation -...

5 pts Question 23 Life on Earth uses 3 nucleotide long code words, with 4 letters in the alphabet to encode 20 amino acids. DNA on the planet Arth only contains A, G and C. In addition, proteins on Arth are made from 26 different amino acids. What is the minimum number of nucleotides in a codon needed to code for life on Arth? Hint: In humans a 3-letter code can represent 4 x 4 x4 = 64 amino acids...
