29. The calcofluor white stain is a fluorescent stain that binds to chitin and cellulose. Chitin and cellulose are present in fungi. These fungi express bright green to blue fluorescence when stained with this dye.

Mycolic acid is present in cell wall of Mycobacterium species and is stained by Ziel Nielsen acid fast staining. Metachromatic granules are stained red by methylene blue. Polysaccharide capsules are stained using combination of acidic (Nigrosine, congo red) and basic dyes (crystal violet, safranin). Cell wall peptidoglycan is stained by Gram staining procedure.

31. Staphylococcus aureus is a normal flora organism of skin that can cause opportunistic infections. It produces different virulence factors. Toxins produced include alpha, beta and gamma toxin.
