Answer #1

Triplen harmonics are the odd (2n+1) multiples of the third harmonic (h = 3, 9, 15, 21, . . .). The Triplen harmonics deserve special attention as the system response is often considerably different for them than for the rest of the harmonics.

The main problem created by triplen harmonics with neutral bus duct is the problem of overloading, As a neutral duct bus sized and designed to carry a specific rated phase current now the triplen harmonics causes the neutral current larger than the phase current and due that there are the possibilities to neutral bus becomes overloaded.

Electric panel boards and bus ducts are basically designed to carry to carry 60 Hz current for operations but the triplen harmonics current produces the magnetic field that operated at higher frequency than operational one. If this frequency get in synchronization with panel boards or neutral bus ducts it starts vibrating and produces buzzing sound due to harmonics.
