Major disaster is a strategic plan and procedure that is managed
and used to protect critical infrastructure from severe damage when
natural or human and natural disasters occur. In the United States,
Executive Order 13407 was established as a policy for the United
States to have a highly effective, reliable, flexible, and
comprehensive early warning system called "Public Alert System and
Alert System". . In 2010, Europe began to develop strategic
national disaster management after many natural disasters occurred
in 2010. According to the European Academy, there are 725 extreme
weather events that have caused billions of euros of damage and
thousands of lives.
Disaster management plans come in many forms and are designed to
address issues such as floods, storms, fires, bombings and massive
damage to utilities or the rapid spread of disease. Disaster plans
are likely to address major issues such as denying people from
affected areas, provision of temporary accommodation, food and
medical care.
No country should be vaccinated against a disaster, though the
vulnerability of the disaster is different. There are four types of
disasters:
Natural disasters.
These disasters include floods, storms, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions that can have immediate effects on human health, as well as secondary effects causing more deaths and victims of landslides. There were fires, tsunamis, widespread floods and typhoons sinking.
Environmental emergencies.
These emergencies include technological or industrial hazards that typically involve hazardous materials and occur where they are manufactured, used or transported. Wildfires are generally included in this definition because they tend to be caused by humans.
Emergencies are complex.
These emergencies include the collapse of power, theft, and
attacks against strategic installations. Complex emergencies
include conflict and war.
The spread of these emergencies includes
the emergence of infectious diseases that affect health but also
disrupt services and businesses at an economic and social cost.
