You are on an airplane traveling 30° south of due west at 190 m/s with respect to the air. The air is moving with a speed 33 m/s with respect to the ground due north. 1) What is the speed of the plane with respect to the ground? 2)What is the heading of the plane with respect to the ground? (Let 0° represent due north, 90° represents due easth). 3)How far west will the plane travel in 1 hour?

1) Vx= -190cos(30)= -164.54 Vy= -190sin(30)+33= -62 V= sqt(164.54^2+62^2)= 175.83m/s

2) theta= tan-1(-62/-164.54)= 20.65 degrees so, 270-20.65= 249.35 degrees

3) (164.54)(3600)= 592344m
