Explain why the mitochondrial genome is so much smaller than the chloroplast genome.
I think following is the reason-
Mostly genes of mitochondria has transferred to nucleus because most of regulation for mitochondria is under nucleus control. So it's size is small.
But chloroplast code many or most of genes itself for its own regulation so it's less gene are transferred to nucleus so it's genome size is larger.
Explain why the mitochondrial genome is so much smaller than the chloroplast genome.
How is inheritance of chloroplast genomes determined in Chlamydomonas? Both parents make an equal chloroplast genome contribution to the zygote. A chloroplast gene specifies the uniparental inheritance of the chloroplast genome from the mt+ parent. Both parents make an equal chloroplast genome contribution to the zygote. The chloroplast genome is biparentally inherited and offspring are heteroplasmic. The mt+ (mating-type plus) gamete is much larger than the mt- (mating-type minus) gamete. Therefore, only the mt+ parent contributes chloroplast genomes to the...
a) Why is the Li+ radius so much smaller than the radius of the neutral Li atom? b) Why is the F- radius so much larger than the neutral F atom? b) Which transition involves the emission of less energy in the H atom, an electron moving from n=4 to n=3 or an electron moving from n=3 to n=2?
7.23 Explain why the atomic radius of Be is smaller than that of Li.
2. Explain how the mitochondrial genome varies across species? 3. Describe the features of human mtDNA that are important for function & discovering our ancestral past 4. Discuss the genetics of a mitochondrial disease using a case study and recent advances in technology to cure eg. Myocloniceiepsy and ragged red fiber disease 5. Define the following genetics terminology a) allele, b) genetic marker, c) linkage, d) haplotype
Due to gene transfer between the organelles and the nucleus, Multiple Choice a chloroplast from one plant species can be transferred to any other plant species. organelle genomes experience lower rates of mutation than they would if gene transfer did not occur. some proteins must be imported into organelles for their function mitochondria and chloroplasts have genes that allow them to live independently. mitochondrial genomes in all species have the same genes. What does DNA sequencing suggest about the relationship...
Clearly explain why health outcome is so much more than a combination of health care, individual behaviors, and/or genetics?
Why is the receiving staff in a typical warehouse much smaller than the staff of order-pickers? Explain the difference between: A customer order and a pick list A pick-line and a SKU Pick-by-label and pick-by-voice. Describe four factors that must be taken into account before deciding on picking system and equipment. In 500-750 words, submit this assignment in MS Word to your instructor via the drop box.
D Question 10 Why is Bra smaller atom than As? Br is actually larger than As because it has more protons. As is larger because it has more protons and electrons. Br has more protons to pull the electrons in closer. Br is smaller because it has less protons and electrons making it smaller. Br is actually larger than As because it has a larger atomic mass. Question 11 Explain why metals have lower ionization energy than nonmetals. No answer...
Using VSEPR theory, explain why the smallest bond angles in IF3 are smaller than the bond angles in NF3 which are in turn smaller than the bond angles in BF3.
Google’s inventory turnover ratio is much smaller than that for all comparison groups. Why do you think this is?
