Answer #1

our PCR reaction will amplify a small segment within the TAS2R38 gene ( because we genes sequence length is very long which can not amplify by PCR, beacuse PCR have its limitation like efficiency of DNA polymerase enzyme. so that we amplify only small conserved sequence of gene/ DNA segement which is our interest.)

PCR amplify only particular segment, and not other segment , because we use site/sequence specific primers which attach to DNA at specific site and start amplification from that target site, so that PCR amplify only particular segment, and not other segment

    2. PCR amplification of the TAS2R38 gene a. The number of copies of the 303 bp sequence grows exponentially (1-2-4-8-etc) after each cycle. The number of cycles we used is on page 97. What is the number of copies of the 303 bp fragment that will theoretically be present at the end of our reaction? b. Denaturation of the 303 bp segment of the TAS2R38 gene is a critical first step in the PCR perties of a DNA segment that...

Consider a cylindrical capacitor like that shown in Fig. 24.6. Let d = rb − ra be the spacing between the inner and outer conductors. (a) Let the radii of the two conductors be only slightly different, so that d << ra. Show that the result derived in Example 24.4 (Section 24.1) for the capacitance of a cylindrical capacitor then reduces to Eq. (24.2), the equation for the capacitance of a parallel-plate capacitor, with A being the surface area of...

explaim the mechanisms amd toxological effects if type 1 diabetes in this article Exposure to arsenic in drinking water is associated with increased prevalence of diabetes. We previously reported an association of diabetes and urinary concentration of dimethylarsinite (DMAS"), a toxic product of arsenic methylation by arsenic (+ 3 oxidation state) methyltransferase (AS3MT). Here we examine associations between AS3MT polymorphism, arsenic metabolism and diabetes. Fasting blood glucose, oral glucose tolerance and self-reported diagnoses were used to identify diabetic individuals. Inorganic...
