Nuclear fusion reaction:

Nuclear fusion reaction is a type of nuclear reaction in which two small nuclei are collided together to form a big nuclei with release of large amount of energy. Nuclear fusion reaction occurs at a very high temperature of several hundred million degrees. The source of energy in the Sun is this nuclear fission reaction. In the Sun at very high temperature hydrogen-1 nuclei are fuse to helium-4 nuclei with the release of bulk amount of energy.

$$ 4_{1}^{1} \mathrm{H} \rightarrow{ }_{2}^{4} \mathrm{He}+2_{1}^{0} \beta^{+}+\text {Energy } $$

Nuclear fission reaction:

It is also a type of nuclear reaction. In nuclear fission reaction large nucleus split into two medium sizes of nuclei with release of large amount of energy and several free neutrons. This nuclear fission reaction occurs at normal temperature. It is also possible to control this reaction and use the release amount of energy to produce electricity. One example of nuclear fission reaction is following:

$$ { }_{92}^{235} \mathrm{U}+{ }_{0}^{1} \mathrm{n} \rightarrow{ }_{355}^{135} \mathrm{I}+{ }_{39}^{97} \mathrm{Y}+4{ }_{0}^{1} \mathrm{n}+\text { Energy } $$

Nuclear fission: used to generate electricity and heavily involves neutrons

Nuclear fusion: predominates in the interior of the sun and required high temperature at initiation

Both result in the emission of radiation and involve transmutation of elements

Transmutation reaction:

It is a type of nuclear reaction in which nuclide of one element changed into nuclide of other element.
