Answer #1

As we know that fission and fusion are the processes in the radioactive chemistry wherein the first case one heavy nucleus splits into two lighter nuclei on the other hand in the second case two lighter nuclei combine to form a heavy nucleus.

(1) As we know that in the radioactive nuclei emits radiation as they involve in fission or fusion. So,

The first option "results in the emission of radiation" applies to both.

(2) As both fission and fusion change one or two radioactive elements and convert them in a new radioactive element. So,

The third option "involves transmutation of elements" also applies to both.

(3) As nuclear fusion combines two lighter nuclei to make heavy nuclei. So, the fusion of these two nuclei requires high energy. So,

The second option "requires high temperature at initiation" applies to fusion.

(4) As we know that the interior of the sun contains a high amount of energy and a fusion requires a high amount of energy. So,

The sixth option "predominates in the interior of the sun" applies to fusion.

(5) The fission process where heavy nuclei break into lighter nuclei requires a neutrons source to make heavy nuclei unstable and break. So,

The fifth option "heavily involves neutrons" applies to fission.

(6) As in the fission process a high amount of energy released. So, it is used to generate electrical power. Hence,

The option fourth "used to generate electrical power" applies to fission.

Answer Table:

Fission Both Fusion
heavily involves neutrons involves transmutation of elements requires high temperature at initiation
used to generate electrical power results in the emission of radiation predominates in the interior of the sun
