Objective: To develop a Cultural Competence Training session for Healthcare Facility Staff


Many of your department employees have not experience any type of cultural competence training. They are a good (and diverse) group of employees who get along well and would be receptive to this type of training. Your Director has asked you to develop a Cultural Competence Training session for these employees. He would like to see your outline before you develop the material for the session.

In this assignment, you are to:

Create an outline of what you will cover in the session. Include at least five topics that are important to understand in cultural competence.

Create the skeleton of a powerpoint presentation that includes

a Title page,

A minimum of five additional slides that include the topics you included in your outline (you do not need to fill in the detail on the slides)

Create a one-page flyer that includes (at a minimum):

A title that draws the attention to your training session

What the program is about – this is called a “call to action” – it makes the receiver of your flyer want to attend

Answers the questions – Who, What, When , Where and Why and is concise and clear

Contact information with your name, telephone number or email address (remember you are doing this as part of your job)
