Answer #1

Answer:

Crossing over that occurs during meiosis increases genetic variation.

The fusion of egg and sperm cell recombines genes, increasing genetic diversity

Explanation:

Meiosis occurs in germ cells (egg and sperm). Meiosis along with fertilization is the sexual reproduction. During meiosis the crossing over of the chromosomes take place which leads to the genetic variation. During fertilization the sperm cell with genes from father and egg cell with genes from mother recombines will also increase the genetic diversity.

Meiosis results in haploid cells and mitosis results in diploid cells.

Mitosis and meiosis have similar cycles but some more complex cycles are in meiosis. Error free cell division is not an advantage of sexual reproduction. It is needed for all cell types. It does not leads to the genetic variation.

my assigned organism is Naked mole rat (Heterocephalus glaber). please type it. The first step in understanding how information is passed from one generation to the next is understanding how cells divide, particularly how the DNA is passed on to the resulting cells. In this discussion, you will describe the life cycle of an animal or plant of your choosing. The animal or plant you choose must have a sexual life cycle (although it may also have an asexual life...

1 You can prevent cancer if you lead a healthy lifestyle by eating healthy food and doing regular exercise. True A ® True False 2 Points: 1 Mistakes happen when cells divide and make copy of genetic information. These mistakes cause mutations in somatic cells and can cause cancer. However, cells with mistakes don't always cause cancer. Why? A Because the cigarette smoke does not always cause mutations. Some smokers can remain cancer-free thanks to their strong immune systems.
