Question 32. Ans: 3. non disjunction

In this picture meiosis cell division is shown. In normal meiosis cell division from single diploid(2n) cell four haploid(n) cells are produced.

Non disjunction is an event where chromosomes or chromatids fail to separate during cell division. In result of non disjunction produced cells either having greater number of chromosomes or lack number of chromosomes that they should have after cell division.

So in this given diagram we can see the produced cells having either n+1 or n-1 chromosomes instead of having n chromosomes, which indicates it is a case of non disjunction in meiosis cell division.
