Answer #1

Answer: 40 Seconds.

Cycle Time

Cycle time is the time between production of two successive units. It is the time a single unit takes to produce from start to finish.

Cycle Time = Available Time / Demand rate per day

  • Available time = 10 hours a day. Convert the time in minutes, so 10 × 60 = 600 minutes.
  • Demand rate per day = 900 units.

Cycle time = 600/900 = 2/3 minute

When we convert 2/3 minutes into seconds we get; (2/3) × 60 = 40 seconds.

So the Cycle time is 40 seconds which means it takes 40 seconds to produce a single unit.
