Step 1. output rate of final item= 500/7 hours= 71.43 units per hr

Step 2. cycle time= 1/ output rate = 3600 secs/71.43 units per hr= 50.4 secs per unit

Step 3. Maximum output depends on longest task of 50 secs, plant operates for 7*3600 secs, therefore maximum output can be 3600*7/50= 504

Step 4. Minimum no. of workstation = total task time/ cycle time = (45+11+9+50+26+11+12+10+9+10)/50.4=3.8 ~~ 4
