MGMT 515: Management that Transforms
Course Description:
In this course, students are introduced to the tools of planning and operational management, with an emphasis on the use of technology to facilitate strategic thinking. Students will explore the development, implementation, and evaluation of plans to address the long-term needs of the organization. Of special focus will be the nature of strategic leadership and leaders, including their development and support.

Course Content- The most important aspects of this course are as follows- 1. It covers the fundamental principles and basic concepts of management, with emphasis on organizational design, management processes, leadership, motivation and managing teams and individuals in a global business environment. 2. This course includes various module in which an overview of management; strategy and structure; organization behaviour and group/Organization dynamics. 3. It provides the fundamental principles and processes available to the understanding of management. Students will likely spend a major part of their lives working for one or perhaps, leading one they have started. 4. This course provides students with an understanding of the relevance and importance of diversity within corporate America as well as a review of global business practices.
Application of course content- Analysis of federal, state and international law on intellectual property and technology, including principles of contract law, intellectual law, taxation law, tort law, anti-trust law and criminal law with respect to technology and intellectual property. Entrepreneurial process in a global context as it relates to recognizing ideas, marshaling resources, developing networks and creating the strategy for a new cross-border venture.
A critical analysis of theories for viewing organizations and an examination of the common models for understanding human behavior, including executive behavior, within the constraints of a complex social system.
Job Experience Integration- Strategies to achieve success in business and public careers. Includes the development of administrative theories and practices and provides an overview of the functional areas of business and public administration. Examines the questions of ethics, small business management and the global aspects of administration. Introduction to management as it affects operations and the behavior of people in relation to the functional fields of administration. Selected behavioral concepts analyzed with respect to applications in management.
