Answer:- (a) S-phase because Interphase is the cell cycle's longerest part. It is as the cell expands and before going into mitosis, it copies the DNA. Chromosomes align, divide and transfer into new daughter cells during mitosis. The inter- prefix means between, so interphase occurs between one mitotic (M) phase and the next.
