Answer #1

Given IP address is 192.168.100.0 which signifies that this IP address belongs to Class C.

Given subnet mask is 255.255.255.248 (in binary) => 11111111.11111111.11111111.11111000

We know in subnet mask 1's represent NID + SID and 0's represent HID

NID = Netword ID

SID = Subnet ID

HID = Host ID

So, in the given subnet mask there are 29 1's out of which 24 represent NID and the remaining 5 represents SID.

a) So, there are total 25 (32) subnets can created.

b) There are 23 (8) IPs per subnets.

c) The first 4 subnets, range (usable IPs) and their broadcast address are as follows

192.168.100.0 192.168.100.1 - 192.168.100.6 192.168.100.7
192.168.100.8 192.168.100.9 - 192.168.100.14 192.168.100.15
192.168.100.16 192.168.100.17 - 192.168.100.22 192.168.100.23
192.168.100.24 192.168.100.25 - 192.168.100.30 192.168.100.31
