AlleleA1 program Natural selection ASAP please please
Please help if you know about this program, because ihave truble with explaining rezults. thank you!!!
1. Set the fitness value of A1A1 genotype to 0.9 .Describe and explain results?
2. There's horizontal line ,explain why a horizontal line is expected?
3. Is it possible that two genotype (see image) have the same fitness values? How such a situation could arise in an actual population?
Thank you!!
1- This is the case of recessive allele advantage . As you see that genotype containing A2 allele has fitness of 1 where as genotype which does not contain A2 allele i. e. A1A1 has less fitness than A2 containing genotypes.
In our results, there are more number of A2A2 and A1A2 genotype individual. A2 allele is not fixed because A1A2 has also fitness of 1.
2- Blue line indicates Hardyweinberg equilibrium condition.
This is showing the ideal condition of Hardyweinberg equilibrium i.e. random mating, no migration, no selection etc.
3- Yes it is possible that two genotype has same fitness.
In this we can say that allele A2 codes for a trait which is favourable by the environment and has fitness of 1.
If you find my answer is useful, then please give a thumbs up to my answer.

In a population where there is a heterozygous advantage, if the relative fitness of the A1A1(W11) genotype is 0.6, A1A2/W12) is 1.0, and A2A2(W22) is 0.9, at equilibrium the frequency of the A2 allele will be: 0 0.2 . 0.6 0.8 0.4
You are studying a population of milkweeds and you find the following allele frequencies: f(A1A1) = 0.36 f(A1A2) = 0.48 f(A2A2) = 0.16 If the fitness of the heterozygote (w12) is 0.9 and the average fitness of the population is 0.916, what do we expect the new frequency of the heterozygote genotype to be in the next generation?
Question 1: Antibiotics are effective against a population of bacteria. However, you observe a new resistance allele arises in the bacteria population. You observe the fitness of the mutant is 1% higher than the wild type and the population size (N) of the bacteria is 106. A) How long does it take for the resistance allele to reach fixation? Hint: The fixation time is defined as the time from a single copy of the resistance allele (1/N) to near fixation...
QUESTION 18 Consider three cases of selection at a dialleic locus with alleles A1 and A2: Relative Fitnesses A2A2 A IAI A142 A2A2 - AIA A142 1242 AZAZ 1 0 .7 0.7 10.9 0.7 Initial Freq. of A1 -0.01; Generations - 500: Population size - Infinite. Al other conditions set to zero. Run the above model in the Alleel program Why does case 1 take so long to start to increase in frequency? Because natural selection can only act on...
Find the calculations for the data of this population? a) Calculate the relative fitness for each of the three genotypes? b) What is the mean fitness of this population, and how do you expect it to change in response to selection? c) Based on the calculations in a), calculate the values of h and s. What type of selection has occured? d) If the surviving individuals mate at random, what will be the genotype frequencies in the next generation (...
1. In the White Sands desert of New Mexico, light coloration has evolved in multiple, independent populations of mice, similar to the lizards described by Rosenblum et al. (2010). In some cases, a mutation in the Mc1R gene prevents binding of a signaling molecule, thus blocking the signal to produce melanin. This type of mutation appears to be recessive. In other cases, increased production of the inhibitor ASP blocks production of melanin. This type of mutation appears to be dominant....
In a population of mice a particular locus has two alleles A1 (dominant) and A2 (recessive). There are 126 A1A1, 167 A1A2 and 88 A2A2. Is this population in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (3 pts)? In a population of Gragons, there are 3151 A1A1, 1678 A1A2 and 2014 A2A2 individuals. If the environment changes so that the homozygous recessive genotype suffers a reduction of fitness where its fitness is now 0.73, but the other genotypes are unaffected, what will be the frequency...
please help me out in Q24 and Q25!! all info is given. thank you Assume that you just calculated baseline allele frequencies for this population So at time TO. Suppose these flies were allowed to mate and produce offspring for the next two weeks. The population is large, rates of mutation at the body color locus are low, and flies cannot enter or leave the source population If the allele frequencies were: f(e)=0.55 and f(E)=0.45, and you waited 2 weeks...
