a . Enzymes are metabolic assistants that speed up chemical reactions,there are two type of chemical reactions that occur readily within organism.

b . During dehydration synthesis,an enzyme removes a hydroxyl functional group from the monomers of one organic molecule and a hydrogen from another monomer to link monomers together to form a polymer .This chemical reaction also forms water

c . The opposite reaction ,  hydrolysis ,is when a molecule of  water is added to a polymer to break the link between monomers.

d . Therefore ,the main difference between dehydration synthesis and hydrolysis is that during dehydration synthesis,bonds are being formed , while in hydrolysis bonds are being  destroyed .

Enzymes are metabolic assistance speed up all the chemical reactions,Mainly there are two type of reactions,hydrolysis and dehydration synthesis.Hydrolysis reaction use water to breakdown polymers into monomers and by destroyed or break the bonds and release energy. Dehydration synthesis is the opposite of hydrolysis,which means it formed water by linking the monemric units by removing an hydroxil group from the monomers of one organic molecule and a hydrogen from another monomers,link the monomers to form polymer.Bonds are formed here and energy is required for this reaction.
