Answer #1

Genes are the functional areas of DNA which are transcribed to RNA and translated to proteins. One gene one protein hypothesis is the idea that one gene produced a single polypeptide.

Now this concept is not valid because of the discovery of the concept of splicing.

RNA is subjected to splicing after transcription. RNA contains several non coding regions called introns that exist in between various coding areas of genes called exons.

During another process called alternative splicing, multiple exons are joined together and now a single mRNA from a single gene can translate many proteins.

So now one gene one protein concept is not valid.

CAPGEMINI: WHY CENTURY-OLD RFID TECHNOLOGY CAN DISRUPT MODERN RETAIL SUPPLY CHAINS Amazon’s recent announcement of additional investments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and drones in the UK should be a wake-up call for all retailers, from supermarkets to apparel stores. UK retailers can learn a lot from how their US counterparts are responding to Amazon’s innovations and the unexpected technology at the heart of their response. Amazon’s investment, paired with its physical store experiment, Go, shows that the technology company has...

Respondents are asked to score how frequently they use the different capital budgeting techniques on a scale of 0 to 4 (0 meaning "never", 4 meaning "always"). In many respects, the results differ from previous surveys, perhaps because we have a more diverse sample. An important caveat here, and throughout the survey, is that the response represents beliefs. We have no way of verifying that the beliefs coincide with actions. Most respondents select net present value and internal rate of...

Should the Fed continue its stimulus policy, reduce it or abandon it entirely (Google some recent articles to research this)?  (Please...

Exercise 2 Separation of a Mixture Based on Acid-Base Properties One purpose of this exercise is to learn how to use a separatory funnel to extract a single component away from other compounds in solution. To do so, we will apply the principles of solubility and acid-base behavior you’re seeing in class. One of the compounds is neutral in the acid-base sense. It has no ability to either donate or accept a proton from an aqueous solution, and will remain...

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...

When I assumed the leadership of Heinz’s Asia/Pacific business, in 1993, the company’s revenues from that part of the world were hardly a blip—and I’d never visited most of the countries in the region. I made my first trip there soon after I took the job, and it really opened...
