Type A Blood group - has A antigen marker and Anti-B antibody. This Anti-B antibody can attack B antigen cells.

This is the reason that type A blood group is not the donor for type B group.

Type B Blood group - has B antigen marker and Anti-A antibody. This Anti-A antibody can attack A antigen cells.

This is the reason that type B blood group is not the donor for type A group.

Type AB Blood group - has both A and B antigen marker. So NO antibody.

If any antibody (such as Anti-A or Anti-B antibody) would have been present in this AB blood, then it would have attacked the antigen bearing cells.

Type O Blood group - has no antigen bearing cells. Hence you could find both the antibody (anti-A and anti-B).

This anti-A and anti-B antibody in O blood type attacks the incoming type A, B or AB blood group.

As you could see in table B, when cells bearing B antigen is mixed with Anti-B antibody, it destroys the B-antigen cells.

In the same way, when cells bearing A antigen is mixed with Anti-A antibody, it destroys the A-antigen cells.

So this is the reason that not everyone can donate their blood to every people. Certain blood type can be mixed with certain blood type only, otherwise the consequence will be severe.
