17: d. Chromatography. Chromatography was not used by Avery et al. to show DNA as the transforming substance. They reported that viscous form of DNA was present in the active extract and it was free from protein, no lipid or serologically reactive polysaccharide. They mentioned that the data obtained were obtained by chemical, enzymatic, and serological analyses together with the results of preliminary studies by electrophoresis, ultracentrifugation, and ultraviolet spectroscopy.

42: d. Ribonuclease. EF-TU Binds GTP and brings aminoacyl-tRNA to A-site of ribosome. GTP provides the energy by hydrolysis. Bacterial ribosomes (70S) consist of 50S and 30S subunits. Ribonucleases are not required during this phase.
